FILMMAKER
as a director for music-related media, i try to combine tradition with innovation.
i am interested in exploring stylistic boundaries and overcoming genre limitations in order to arrive at ever new dialects of how music can be transported.
i like it very much when the classical traditional frontal performance practice is more and more transferred into contemporary dimensions that are directly linked to medial language, whatever this may look like. for me, there are no limits to creativity here.
it has always been my concern to bring aesthetics from other artistic fields into classical music. in this symbiosis, i see a great creative scope, which gives me the greatest pleasure. the possibilities for development never stop here, because nothing is more constant than change - also in classical music.
when i ask the great artists of our time why they record this or that piece of music again, when there are already enough respectable recordings of it, i get the answer: "music lives and is born anew every moment and is interpreted and made audible individually." how true!
this is exactly where i see my counterpart. this is also what i try to do with my "translation" into visual and performance languages, which also never want to stand still in terms of development and will always find new forms of expression and dialects, not only to pay highest tribute to our classical heritage but also to give everything that is new a media expression that is THE means of transport and expression of our times.
